Edit Hot, Heavy Work
GLASGOW was once famous as the home of heavy industry, and workers were no strangers to state-of-the-art technology.
This picture shows men at Colville's Clyde Iron Works in Tollcross getting to grips with a newly installed blast-furnace. It was hugely expensive, costing £500,000 . . . a vast sum in 1949.
Excellent picture, I'd love to see more old pictures of Colville's and all the other local area.
